Project Basho will be hosting an informal discussion with photographer Clay Harmon on Friday, February 26th at 7:00pm. Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for Friends of Project Basho.

Harmon is a Houston-based photographer who specializes in platinum-palladium, gum-palladium, and photogravure printing from digital negatives. Through the combined use of large format cameras, toy cameras with crude lenses, historical printing processes, and refined digital processing, Harmon explores the ways in which the photographic medium distorts and captures the world around us.

He will also be teaching a workshop the same weekend on Creating Digital Negatives.

Could you record or video it and make it available afterwards ?

Obviously 99% of APUG are based too far away to attend but it would be great to see/hear.

I wish I could be there. Gonna be hitting the doctors in Wilmington, DE with the family. Wouldn't subject them to it, though. Would bore the socks off of them. I would love it. But alas . . .

Clay is not only ridiculously smart, he's also hilarious! Please videotape these events if possible.

Yay on both counts. You're not going to meet anyone with a better working knowledge of this and other processes. Clay is the man and I wouldn't miss this if anywhere near.

And as Jeremy says, you might split a gut laughing if you get him going. :D

Clay also provided detailed information regarding Pyrocat HD and Jobo processing for various films. The article can be found on The Unblinking Eye site maintained by Ed Buffaloe. Worth a visit for anyone interested in using Pyrocat HD for LF sheets.
