Conventional Processing of SCALA verses Reversal Processing

Has anyone ever processed Agfa's "Scala" in a regular (non-reversal) process?

I've read that Scala was "specially designed for reversal processing"
and am trying to figure out what might be unique or "special" about it....

If anyone has any technical data on the emulsion, or it's processing in regular developers especially a characteristic curve from such a process, I would love to look at it!

One can't argue with that!

so I tried, using "Conventional Processing of SCALA" as the search term,
but came up with my own question in the #1 spot, followed by, well,
lots of normal Scala reversal processing hits.

Maybe you misunderstood my question (?);
I am not interested in reversal processing,
I was wanting to hear from somone who processed it "incorrectly"
so as to make regular negative images with it.
 
A friend of mine did that. He said, in a nutshell it's APX 100 on a clear base.
 

Try "Scala as negative"
 
try scala, "characteristic curve", development, negative

quotation marks around key phrases help to narrow results, using a minus (-) prepended to a word will reject that word from a query

There is a whole page of development info on the MDC for Scala as negatives

Ian, were you actualy able to find a characteristic curve for Scala... before reversal, that is just in say D76?

I don't seem to find it... using the query you gave me above.
 
Treat it as if it is APX-100, look it up in the MDC for either Scala or APX-100 and you will find times. My daughter shot a roll of it in 120 and underexposed everything by half a stop, and still got very printable negatives.
 
SCALA film is 'not' APX film, not close.

SCALA film is a partial ortho clear-base film-type.
The makeup of APX is quite different.

Reversing APX & SCALA side by side produces quite a different result.

The best developer for neg processing of SCALA film is; D23, pyro, 1:5-DK50 or highly dilute HC110. This film will produce a good neg, but a contrasty one.
