Contax TVS is actually almost the same as having Tri-Elmar 28-35-50

I had Contax T2, sold it. It is nice, but the price is just too high. No big love for T2 from me.
But TVS is actually better for me. It is zoom, but not classic point and shoot zoom. On the net there is more than enough reviews and specification. What clicked with me is all around features that this camera offers - best of both worlds (point and shoot zoom and professional options). From zoom range and the way it zooms - it is like having Tri-Elmar. Lens quality is more than enough for me, and f3.5 on 28mm end is enough.
Any TVS users here?

Yes me, but I shot only one film yet, bought it a couple of weeks ago. I had the camera in the 90s, sold it and night it now again.

I've had one for about ten years now. Great camera. The lens has sweet spots so it is really good at some focal lengths/apertures/distances and only decent in others. It shares some features with the other T cameras as well, so you can turn the flash off as a preset which is nice. Plus it takes filters and a lens hood. What's not to like? The only downside is the lens is a little slow on the 56mm end.

I haven't mapped them out. Most point and shoots are better at closer distances. I'd guess that the lens designers do this because most people use them for pictures of people. Usually the lenses can't achieve a lot of detail in big sweeping vistas.

Yes I use filters for black and white. Typically a yellow-green or a red. Which reminds me of the other thing that is great about the TVS. It has easy to do exposure compensation so getting the right exposure is a piece of cake.
