Contax T3 appears to be scratching the back of the negative

So, these scratches appear on the back of the negative, so I’ve cleaned the pressure plate pretty thoroughly, including running my finger over it. The thing is, these scratches only appear halfway through the roll, so I assume it must be somewhere where the film starts to spool and get closer to the walls. The scratches only appear in the same place and sometimes there are gaps. Any ideas would be super helpful. Thanks!

I experienced slight scratches on the back side of a film coming from a camera of similar design, and the cause seemingly was the tightening roller. The camera was dead, so I did not explore further.
In your case I would check if by no means the metal strips holding the roller could get in contact with the film. Otherwise I would grid them down a bit.
Next I would check the the roller itsels for any harshness of its edges and in case grind them smooth (grinding tool of grade 1000)

At the start of winding onto the take-up drum the film would be furthest off the wall of the take-up chamber.

Hey. I just bought a pristine T3 but I'm having the same issue. The scratch shows up in the last 3rd of the roll. Did you ever solve the mystery?

I experienced slight scratches on the base of a film coming from a camera of similar design - a Leica minilux - and the cause was seemingly the tightening roller. Or rather the lack of one, as it had fallen out. Worth checking if you have not already done so. In my case, the missing part was also missing from the Leica spares 'bin' so I fabricated a crude, but effective, replacement from some fine-bore silicone tubing and some bent wire as a spindle.
The problem seemed very similar to AgX - so I thought my response should be worded in a similar style. I hope you appreciate that and of course sort out your camera problem.
