I thought I would try a Contax N series camera with a zoom lens. Found a NX locally but after receiving it I’m finding a couple issues. First is the dial on the left side. It’s very difficult to switch amongst the different modes. Seller said it’s common. Also, the rear right dial seems to miss settings while turning quickly, but then it seems to work fine when I turn it slower. Also, the battery meter dropped to 1/2 then back to full on new set of batteries randomly. Thank you for any feedback you have to offer.

Well you should know about the dial on the left side before you buy it. Yes one of the thing I worry about is the longevity of the encoder dials used in most modern cameras. These tend to work not so reiable when they get old. I don't know what they use for the switching elements in these dials. The ones used in industrial applications are optical. The battery could be a short of something. That could become serious.

The issues weren’t disclosed so I can return it. I was wondering if the left dial issue is common. The seller said his tech stated so ( after I mentioned it when the camera arrived ). This should have been in the description IMO.

The dial on the left is for selecting different things and I think that's common. If they put something like shutter speed dial there then it's not common.
