The tilted curtains are an artifact of the rolling shutter I think. What are the symptoms of the "inconsistent photos"?
I don't see a big difference in the slit width between the two pictures. It should gradually get wider the slower the exposure time.
Without a better tester it's hard to determine exposure time. But high speed video can help check if there is gross imbalance between the curtains.
In principle if the sync speed is 1/50, the slit width is 24mm; 1/100 --> 12mm; 1/1250 --> 1mm (that's almost impossibly small).
