Sad, had to send my G2 and 45mm f2 back to KEH. All the photos on my first roll came back slightly out of focus. I had used both auto and manual focus on the roll.

bummer.

Have you considered the possibility that they WERE in focus and it is your world that is fuzzy?

Failing that, just the lens is wonkers, perhaps.

At least

At least you bought it from a place that stands behind their goods.

For manual focusing the is a readout similar to exposure in the viewfinder. The camera sets the range of the area to which your're shooting(the # sign in the middle for example) and then you adjust the focus from either side. Focus until asterisks merges with the # sitn. Let see if I can simulate here.

I should have been more specific, I've had a G2 since 1999 and know how it works. Was wondering what you did to test....did you shoot targets and a measuring tape?

I have the G2 with a 45mm, 90mm and 28mm. The 28mm has never been out of focus. The 90 sometimes and the 45 rarely. A working photographer friend of mine has given up on his G2 due to all the out of focus shots he got. Where as i've rarely had a problem with mine. One day i asked him to take a photo of me and my father. It was blurry, then he took another one, it was off center. Its not an easy camera to focus and use at first, and just remember after you've focused DO NOT MOVE. Also it could be the body thats giving you autofocus problems not the lens

I agree, I think the camera's RF focus is not aligned properly. Anyway, I sent it back to KEH for a refund.
