Contax G2 film load issue

I have a contax g2 that won't load film, when I purchased it 6-8 months ago it was doing the same thing, when I try to load the film film it just pulls it but won't properly do it. The motor winds everything sounds and looks ok except for one thing the spool spins freely vs my G1. The G1 I have almost always loads the film correctly and I noticed last night the spool won't spin freely.

Anyone out there with a g2 can possibly check if there's spins. Thank you

Don't have a G2, but my G1 does exactly as yours....the take up spool will not rotate.

Try removing batteries and clean the camera's contacts and battery contacts... reassemble.

Is it possible that the leader isn't inserted far enough to catch? The only time I've had the G2 problem you describe was when loading IR film in the dark. Leader wasn't in position to engage.

Yea I got it to load I just had to hold the film in place perfectly. I feel like it prefers certain films lol
