Hi,
I am new to this forum, this my first post. I have 3 contax G1 cameras, I was testing them recently and noticed the shooting distance displayed in the display panel is not same, varies by about 10% between each of them. I tested by focusing from a measured distance (around 1.5 m) from a AF test chart. Has anyone done AF adjustments to their G1?

If the G1 is anything like the G2 the read-out on the LCD can seem to vary some though it might still be quite accurate. Do some shooting of test charts and then examine your chromes or negs with a loupe to determine if the camera is truly off in the focusing.

I got a G1 service manual now, it does explain how to do the adjustments to the AF, you have to put the camera in manual adjustment mode and set it at 0.5m, 1.0m and 2.95m from the test chart and adjust the values (hexadecimal), complicated but can be done, no tools needed. Also there are other adjustments which can be done shutter time, flash, light meter, TTL and you can also check total shutter actuations. I will post shutter actuations in another post.
