I the past I have ask this forum whether it was possible to shoot HIE with a Contax Aria which has a IR film counter.

I really like this camera as a travel camera, and was rather bummed to find it fogged HIE well into the frame. Just the other week I have "modified" it, with a couple of square millimeters of black tape, which I have used to cover just about the lower half of the IR diode in the camera. I used some ordinary film to find out just how much I could cover up, with the camera still being able to count the film, and than shot some HIE to find that the fogging is now well OUT of the frame. So I very happy and just bought a second Aria as a back up. Maybe this trick works for some of you as well, it should work on other camera models with a IR framecounter too, I suspect.
