I'm selling my complete Contax 645 system. These days I'm shooting mostly 6x6 and 6x7 formats, and LF. This system---bought when I anticipated shooting portraits/weddings and commercial stuff with a digital back---has become redundant.

Items, and cosmetic condition, are listed below. Everything works perfectly. In addition to PayPal (instant payment only) I'll take a cashier's check, certified check, or personal check if you don't mind waiting up to ten days for any of these to clear before I ship. I'll ship outside the US, but will only ship insured for the item's sale price, which is the value the customs forms will list. Shipping, duties and taxes are your responsibility.

I'll accept a return, and refund your money less payment fees and shipping both ways, if you contact me within seven days of receipt of the item if not satisfied with the function or appearance of the item(s).

I'll also likely list these on Luminous Landscape as well as craigslist, with the auction site as a last resort. There, my username is mikeseb1, and I have a .
100% buyer/seller satisfaction rating. My website is www.michaelsebastian.com, where my phone number is listed. I welcome your call to discuss this system.

Items:

• Contax 645 body; prism finder; 80mm f/2 lens with bag, caps, and hood; 120/220 film back with insert. Boxes and manuals. Overall condition excellent; finder has minimal handling wear. This is the "kit" package. At one time, I had two, and this one saw little use as a backup.$1500

• MP-1 battery grip with insert and hand strap. Minimal handling wear, expected scratches on baseplate where tripod bracket attaches. $450

• 35mm f/3.5 with caps and hood. Glass is perfect. Barrel has a few faint wear marks, almost imperceptible, around the front rim (?from lens hood attachment?) and the body where the barrel flares to accomodate the front element. $1600

• Hartblei 45 f/3.5 Tilt-Shift lens. Excellent condition. $750

• 55mm f/3.5 with bag and caps, no hood. Like new. This is a tough one to find, and is a perfect focal length for either film or digital backs with a crop factor. $1800

• 120 f/4 macro with bag, caps, hood. The lens is pristine; the front edge of the hood has a small ding where I dropped it (hood only, not the lens!) but o/w perfect. $1800

• 210 f/4 with bag, caps, and hood. Perfect condition. $800

• 350 f/4 tele-apo-Tessar. Caps but no hood or case. I'll throw in a LowePro padded case I keep it in. Only mark on this beast is on the tripod foot's underside, where the QR plate attaches. I've shot everything with this lens, on a monopod: equestrian, skateboarding, you name it. $4800.

Odds and ends:

• Waist-level finder. Rare as hen's teeth. Perfect condition. $500

• GB-73 lens hood. NIB. $200

• MSB-1 Flash bracket. NIB. $350

• 120/220 film backs with caps and inserts. Varying degrees of handling wear. 3 available besides the one with the camera kit above. $150

• Really Right Stuff QR L-bracket. Minimal wear. These were $185 new; I can't find them on the RRS site now. $150

• Assorted cable releases and odds 'n ends. Inquire if there's something you're looking for.

Questions by PM, email, or phone welcomed.

IMAGES OF SALE ITEMS HERE

[Moderator: with the ad migration back to the forums, I seem to have lost the ability to edit or control my own ad. Can this be fixed?]

Here's a link to images of the items for sale. Everything's there except for the 210; I'll get some image of that lens online as soon as I can.

Please disregard the noisy images (ISO set too high!) and the paper-towel lint on everything! The towel left more lint than the dust I was trying to remove! I'm not much of a digital product photographer, it seems....

Images of the gear are viewable HERE. Everything's up as of this posting, except for the 210. It's in another case and I have to dig it out. I'll post soon.

Thanks one and all.

Camera body/lens/prism/back kit has sold. Also, all pictures of this gear can be accessed at once from HERE. At left is a list of galleries of specific items, or ALL ITEMS to browse through the entire system. I'll give it another week or two here before packing up for the dreaded auction site.

[Moderator: dang I wish we could update the original post rather than appending all this crap to it.]

[I think you should be able to edit now. Do you have an "edit" button on the original post?]

I think the current plan is to restore full editing for classified advertisers.

Hartblei T/S lens has sold. Let me know soon if you're interested in something. It's all going to eBay within a week.

Well, four months hence, and life got in the way of my sending this stuff to eBay. Good intentions and all....

I still have all the lenses except the Hartblei; I have a film back + insert or two; WLF and RRS bracket are also gone.

I've gotten disillusioned with eBay for all the usual reasons; would love to sell this gear, all in excellent condition, to a fellow APUG-ger.

Great weekend, all.

hey Mike,
how do you like the 210/4 Sonnar?
I'm going to put together a Contax kit here soon. May have to wait til the wedding film craze dies a bit. Prices are up there lately.

The 210 is underrated IMO; it is a perfect focal length when you want some compression for portraiture, for instance; close to the 135mm in 35mm format. It's as sharp, with as good bokeh, as the rest of the Contax lens lineup.

There's really not a bad lens in the bunch. The 350 is just spectacular.

MSB-1

This is probably too late, but do you still have the MSB-1 Flash Bracket?

Thanks
Bill
