Does anyone have a contact within Ilford? Preferably higher up but anybody will do really.

I'm teaching photography to Cambodian street kids & orphans on a permanent voluntary basis and would like to talk to them about sponsorship. I don't need much but the exposure for them would be excellent. Especially since I'll be holding exhibitions for the kids in areas with a massive tourist through-flow, most of whom are photo enthusiasts.

If you know any other companies who might be interested in this then I'm keen to hear about them. Basically my needs are just materials - 35mm film and paper to enlarge onto. Otherwise financial sponsorship would be great. It costs me roughly $80US to teach one child for 1 month, this includes 4 rolls of film per week & prints.
This isn't much but since I'm living on my savings and don't have an income, this is a very finite venture!

Thanks in advance.
Liam

By the way, this is a bit more detail about what I'm doing:

Ilford is an APUG partner, and Simon R. Galley from Ilford is a very active participant on the forum, though I don't know that I've noticed any new posts from him recently, so I suspect he's on vacation. I think there was just a UK Bank Holiday on August 31, so maybe he's back or should be around soon. You might send him a PM.

Welcome to APUG!

Thanks for this David. I'll definitely get in touch with him.
Cheers for the welcome too, although I think I might change my username. I guess I have to close this account and make a new one, right?

Contact Sean, the site owner, about changing your username, and he can do it for you, so you don't lose the posts you've made so far.

Yeah, I think you have a valid reason for changing your name..:tongue:

Seemed like a good username at the time but then it occurred to me that it was a little too dark given the circumstances.

I don't know if they can help you with money, but here is an organization doing something similar in Vermont, USA;
