Hi, i'm looking for a bit of advice.

I have a Fujica STX-2, but no flash gun

I've seen an olympus T20 flash which looks quite compact, but as im quite new to film slr's, im not sure if it will work with my camera.

Sorry for sounding like a real n00b, but any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks

The T20s are very nice little flashes. I have two .

They should work fine with a Fujica STX-2.

They aren't particularly powerful, but the auto exposure functions give good results.

They don't swivel or rotate for bounce, but they are nice and light and small on top of the camera.

Make sure that the flash has the sliding distance scale for the back panel. They are sometimes missing, because the method for converting the flash for TTl use with certain Olympus cameras is to remove and reverse the distance scale.

These were made for both US and international markets, so if you prefer "feet" and aren't comfortable with metric measurements (or vice versa) make sure that the distance scale is one you will want to use.

I'd refer you to the main Olympus resource link for a manual, but it appears to be down right now.

This link isn't bad:

Thanks for the great reply. I've seen one on eBay (currently no bids 99p) comes with a manual.

Im really just finding my feet just now, ive had some good results which (ive uploaded to flickr) without the flash, but would like to take some indoor shots with my daughter

Thanks again

If you can find a good one. the problem I have seen with two of these is that because the shoe fitting is right at the back, there is quite a forward stress on the plastic bits that slide into the shoe. The old plastic is very brittle, and these snap off.

Hey thanks for the replies. I bought it in the end, and it works a treat from what i've tested so far. The show fitting looks fine too, the unit doesn't look over used at all tbh, still looks fairly decent.

Thanks for the advice guys
