Hey all,
When I look through my WLF on my RZ PRo 2, is what I see
through the focusing screen (in my case the grid screen) exactly
what I will get on my negative?
Or will there be some difference in what I see through the screen
due to the WLF having a magnifier ring in it?
Sorry if I'm not explaining this right!
Please help me figure this out, I'm having a brain blank moment.
(Totally familiar with RZ's, have used one for ages.)

Hi Holly,

The magnifier just magnifies what is on the screen, so is no different from the 'normal' view & your negative will be what you see - (i.e. everything within the masks) - however, you have to put your eye right close to the magnifier in order to see the full view - if looking at any distance you will only get a partial "cropped" view. Hope that helps!

Yes! thankyou that does help. I was reading about the mamiya
magnifying rings for people with far/nearsightedness, and
wondering whether if you put one of those on your WLF if it
would make any kind of difference to how you PERCEIVE the
actual negative image to be.
But I think what I was after is this: if you look at your scene
or whatever through the focusing screen, down through the WLF
without popping up the magnifier, you can easily see the whole of
the image you are going to end up with.
Rather than shoving your eye into the magnifier and getting a
headache.

I've a chimney finder which fits both the RB & RZ.
Nice addition. The glass is adjustable for good
viewing. A metering model is also made. Dan

Get a prism finder. No more confusing left to right mix up.
But then there is no point asking about the difference in how you perceive the negative from how you perceive the viewfinder image when using a waiste level finder.
