The sales guy said to me "We've only got two film cameras on display and they're both crap".

...and they still both probably out-perform the best digigizmos they have on sale!

I think the sales guy's comment was probably more about the quality of the store than the cameras!

Dragging this back on topic...

If anyone finds any postcard stock at a lower price then please post it here. I doubt that we'll save a lot, but every little helps.

I'll be buying a box, or maybe two.

I've just ordered a box at my local shop (not on-line); the quoted price is EUR 23,95. Quite good compared to the £19.49 mentioned earlier. It appears that exporting goods makes them cheaper ;-)

I have in my hand a piece of paper. It may not claim to bring "peace in our time" but it does promise Postcards in our time...

£19.49 inc VAT from Nova. Same box as previously but this one says: Made in England by Harman Technology Limited...

Cheers, Bob.

Thanks Bob. For the postcard exchange am I right in thinking that the pearl finish is a bit more robust?

I'm trying to find this stuff now, I am going to be printing for the postcard exchange. I would like to use it if I can get my hands on some. Where can I get the postcard paper? I tried my local shops and either got a blank stare or "if it's illford we'll get it in soon. Check back in a couple of weeks." Is there anywhere online I can order some of it? I know I could use other paper but I wanted to check it out.

Derek,
I checked out the situation at the beginning of the week. What I was told is that the shops can get a CAT #, however, they cannot place an order until the distro center (stateside) has it in stock. According to Ilford, it *should* arrive at the distro center next week sometime (Mar 6th).
My local shop usually places their monthy orders the last week of the month, but they are going to hold off until the end of next week to see if the paper has come in. I'll let ya know Friday if they were able to get it or not.

Regards,

Received a message from My Local Shop today: they can't order the postcard paper, because uhm... "something something" about the company that is importing this stuff into these lowlands. Bummer. They were able to quote a price, but can't deliver the goods. Strange, if you ask me.

So, where can I order the new Ilford postcard paper online? I've seen a reference to nova in this discussion, but they don't list it on their web site either... Anybody?

Which one is the new thread? There's hundreds of new threads here every day...

Oh, I suppose you mean this one: (there was a url link here which no longer exists) ? Well, it seems like a bit of a fuss to get a product from GB via USA to the Netherlands. I'd rather find an online shop in Europe that carries the postcard product. So far, no luck...

Any online shop in UK can do it; postage of course can be a problem. If it's not in their online catalogue, email them the order. I know Nova have it in stock (or did a week or so ago) in 100 sheet packs.

Cheers, Bob.

Bob, I've been checking Nova's site every other day for a few weeks. No postcard paper listed.

Thanks for the help bob ! As I posted in the other thread, thankfully I was able to get a group together. However, next time either Ilford will change this 'problem', or I will order from the UK.

Thanks again,
Steve

Thanks for the postcards to ILFORD Photo / HARMAN technology

Dear All,

I have just returned from a 10 day trip to the far east...and what is waiting for me but more postcards : A very big thank you to Helen, Ben, Aggie, Lofgreen, Daniel, all nice images and very well printed ( you are a talented group ) but the 'image that appeals to Simon' winner of this bunch is is Bens, with Aggie and Helen's as runner ups.

Thanks again and kind regards

Simon.

Just for a laugh, if any of you send me any more, make sure you put your address on and I will send you by return one of my images, printed by my own fair hand.....
