Greetings

I just bought a Durst M670 Color, which i intend to use to both BW and Color enlargements.

It was supposed to come with a Siriocon 50 condenser, but instead it came with a Vegabox 667 diffuser.

For the moment, i have only the knowledge to enlarge BW negatives. It will take at least a few months before i can work with color, so ill be using this enlarger to do BW only, for some time.

I can either send the diffuser back to the seller and get the condenser, or i can buy the other (kinda pricey, thou)

Any suggestions?

There is nothing wrong with condenser or diffusion for color or b&w. Mix and match.

However if you want to do color and color controls are missing or not conpatible with condenser , press for what you ordered.

I have two enlargers among others, one color condenser and one color diffusion, and prints are identical for all practical purposes. I forget the brand, but they have 3 lights with adjustable brightness for color balance. Dye cloud color, E6 & C 41 do not react the same a a retained silver monochrome film.

Also a print made from monochrome properly developed for condenser or diffusion are within very close appearance. Changing paper grades does not achieve the same result.

Thank you very much.

I think i'll just stay with the vegabox diffuser then, and spare the problem.
