Componon-s 135

Hi, this is my first post. I was given a Componon-s 135 enlarger lens that I plan to use on my Beseler 45 MXT. The problem I am having is that it does not look like any pictures or information I have been able to find. For example, the threaded portion with the locknut measures 44.2 mm, which is apparently very odd. It also has threads internally to the mounting are. Hopefully I can attach a couple of pictures, and maybe someone here has some knowledge about it.

For fixing a lens by retaining ring any thread may be chosen that somehow fits the the hole in the lensboard. There is no need for keeping to a standard.
 
Some of the Componon-S lenses use a 42mm mount ring, rather than an L39 or 50x0.75mm. Lens boards with the right hole/ thread are readily enough obtained for the Beseler. The slightly odd mount is (I'm pretty certain) for compatibility with turret mounts (Beseler/ Durst in particular) where the rear of the lens had to have clearance for the turret to rotate.

There are two setscrews. I removed them, and it seems the only purpose they serve is to prevent the back half from coming unscrewed.

Well, as it looks like the 'back half' isn't part of the lens proper but an adapter to fit the lens to some rather odd enlarger, then unscrewing it may make it easier to fit the lens to your enlarger/lensboard. Or it may make it much more difficult - in that case put the adapter back on.

My 135 Componon-S has a 42mm thread. I just grabbed a 42-52mm filter step-up ring and use that as a retaining ring (step-up rings have threads on the inner opening). I filed 2 slots in it for the spanner wrench. Works fine.
