Complete Set of the Ansel Adams "Basic Photo" Series - Books 1 through 5 - $50

As can be seen in the photos, this set is in good to very good condition. Dust jackets show wear. Pages are clean - no tears or wrinkles or dog ears. There are no marks in the books, except as noted below in "The Negative," and with the exception of a small 25th birthday gift note from my wife written in the front flyleaf of the "Print" book.

Even with some out-dated details (films and certain equipment that are no longer available), the books are still fascinating to read and contain a lot of still-relevant and useful information. No matter the age, the fundamentals are always important.

I'm selling the entire set only.

These books show various copyright dates as follows:

Camera and Lens - © 1948, 1970, renewed 1976, New York Graphic Society

The Negative, New Revised Edition - ©1968, Morgan & Morgan, Inc. Publishers (slight chemical stain in the upper right corner of the front flyleaf)

The Print, New Edition - ©1968, Morgan & Morgan, Inc. Publishers

Natural Light - ©1952, Morgan & Morgan, Inc. Publishers

Artificial Light - ©1968, Morgan & Morgan, Inc. Publishers

The books will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail. Shipping only within the continental United States. Add $10.00 for shipping.

Payment via PayPal only. 14-day return (in same condition as you received them). You pay for return shipping.

I read the first three in this series around 1970 at the public library in a small Idaho town. I have books two and three in a recent paperback reprint. They are definitely worth every penny, even despite the obsolescence of some of the materials and equipment.

I agree. I have learned much from them over the years. Good, solid and practical technical and aesthetic knowledge. I have never seen paperback reprints of this series. The photo reproduction in the hardbound version is very good, despite Adams's frequent apologies for some lacking tonalities.
