Actually the Stylus is gasket sealed and was billed as weather resistant. Combine that with the "sliding dust barrier" case that was pioneered by the XA's and you have a very durable camera.not weather resistant the Olympus Stylist with either 35mm or 28mm in clam shell case.
Another option is the Vivitar PS 35 with 35mm 3.8 lens, it is a clam shell type, came in 2 versions, the early version and DX version. My wife carried one for years when she a reporter, the images were very sharp. We have the early version with manual ISO allows the user to fool the meter to some degree. She carried it when she covered the Super Bowel in the 90s here in Phoenix, she had one of the paper's PJ use to take her picture with the game in the background, we enlarged it to 11X14 without loss of detail. this image is not ours, I need to dig ours out.
