I've just acquired an X-Rite 810RT densitometer. Noting its provision of a 25-pin RS-232 serial connection I wonder whether anyone here has experience of getting data into the Mac OS X environment? A couple of USB to serial adaptors do seem to be available (indeed I might have one in a draw somewhere), but I'm not sure of the software and driver situation.

Any hints?

Most serial-USB adaptors will work, as long as they claim OS X support. Most adaptors are built on either the Prolific (PL) or the Future Technologies (FTDI) chipsets, both of which work well on OS X.
