Do you remember those things with the half inch screen and gargantuan memory cards, the size of half a brick, boasting 5 megapixels, lol!

Actually, I remember a friend who was a very early adopter of digicams, and his first camera had a resolution of 640x480 pixels!

Don't forget that George Eastman made his fortune selling a camera that was basically and instamatic, and that was what most people used for decades. It's not hard to see how a lot of people would consider digital an improvement.

My main worry is that film and film cameras are industrial products that need a viable commercial market to sustain them. Lomo and used vintage cameras are not going to be enough.

As someone who shoots as a hobby I shoot both digital and film. I learned most of what I know shooting film and I still own a lot more film gear than digital. For me the process that I use is exactly the same if I am shooting digital or film. This is probably due to the fact I grew up on film. It's always nice to see articles about film use increasing but, digital is going to keep improving while film is just trying to stay alive. How many NEW film cameras were introduced last year. I worry more about being able to get my film processed than being able to find film. I have buying most of the discontinued Fuji film where I work which should be about 17 rolls. That should be enough to last a couple of years. Being 58 I am hoping film outlives me but, I am not so sure.
