Combi Plan for stand development

Has any one had any experience using the combi-plan daylight tank for stand development with sheet film? I just can’t see my self sitting in the dark for 30 or 40 minutes using trays.

I have found that minimal agitation techniques work very well in Combi-Plan tanks, at least with Pyrocat 1,5+1+200 or Rodinal 1+80.

Pre-soak the film for a couple of minutes

Fill the tank with developer and agitate gently for 30 seconds, then agitate for 10 seconds at the 1/3 and 2/3 mark of the development time.

You're not supposed to see yourself in the dark. It's dark.

Think of it as noble suffering for your art.

Papagene uses a combi-pan and stand development. If he doesn't catch the thread, send him a pm.

A couple of things about stand - from memory on this thread:

I believe Sandy King recommends more than 30 seconds initial agitation for Pyrocat (I'm thinking 2 minutes) - you can search about this.
Also, re the trays - I think the general wisdom is that they don't work well for stand - too easy for chem movement.
