Color shifts in cold expired color slide?

Forgot about the expired rolls of Ektachrome I had in the fridge- I know my two decade+ stuff will color shift a bit, but I have some E100GX from '06 - will it be okay, or should I start using it now, before it gets the "expired Ektachrome" look?

Shot some 15 year old Ektachrome slides in February and they all came out A-OK. Will try to share some stills when the medium format scanner and ANR glass comes in later this month.

You just never know until you test. Outdated slide film is prone to highlight crossover, then general "blaah".

I'd "guess" the 06 Ektachrome will be OK, but the only way is to try one film to test. If it's OK, I'd still be inclined to start using it, but at least you can then do so with confidence.
I can understand a reluctance to use up one's irreplacable supplies of favourite film (I'm the same!), but it's going to be a lot more disappointing to keep the film for the "right" time, then find it unusable.

Thanks - I had run a single film E100GX from one batch that I got off ebay and it looks a bit cold color balanced- not sure if it was always this cold... hmm

Like they said - if it's been cold stored the entire time it will probably be ok, but I wouldn't bet on it, or trust important photos to it, without testing.

E100GX is not cold. The X is the warmer version. If it's cold it's fair to blame it on a color shift from being old.

Thanks- hoping my newer stuff is okay - time to take a trip and use it up
I guess I need to give up the "save for a special occasion" mentality and just use it
