Hey Apug, Just acquired a second Omega D2 enlarger and was wondering what color heads I can throw on it, Preferably with parts etc easily available.

The Omega Super Chromega D Dichroic II is a fine head.

do they pop up on ebay often?

There was also a Chromega (not Super) D head, which is much less desirable in that it uses acetate rather than dichroic filters, which unless they have been rebuilt will have faded by now. Both heads require the mounting to be modified or replaced.

Here are a few threads on the subject:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists) In this thread I wound up getting a power supply and NOT converting the head to 120V. The thread has some info on an overhaul of the dichroic head.

you need the adaptor kit to put the Chromega on a regular omega chassis, not hard to find but required.

Beseler makes a head and adapter for the D2. I have one D2, the adapter and 2 Beseler 45 heads. One as a spare.

As stated, the Chromega D is the obvious choice. I would be willing to bet you will find the whole enlarger as easy and as cheap as just the head ...
