Hello there,
Wikipedia states:
Color photography is photography that uses media capable of representing colors, which are produced chemically during the photographic processing phase. It is contrasted with black-and-white photography, which uses media capable only of showing shades of gray, and does not include hand colored photographs. Some examples of color photography include prints, color negatives, transparencies and slides, and roll and sheet films.
I think a sub forum is needed to discuss, share and refresh ideas of what is color photography. With a new “Color” magazine dedicated to the medium. I would like to invite everyone who enjoys color photography includes those who hand color prints. I would also include Polaroids and Fuji color film.
Lets have discussions on photographers who have worked or are currently doing color photography. Eliot Porter, Charles Cramer, Christopher Burkett, Jack Dykinga, Cole Weston and yes, we can talk about those monotone greats Ansel Adams and Edward Weston.
Lets get set to talk about CMY or RGB, Trans, slides and negs. Rolls and sheet film!
Look for the CMYK logo in the Group section.
Thanks

Thats nice, but analog, silver halide based color photography does not use or need a "K" image component. Just to be clear about things.

Thanks Mark! I have the color patch and will replace it.
You want to join in the sub forum? I would also like Photo Engineer to join as well. I always enjoyed his images of the jets and Nasa rockets. I remember spending hours looking at the images and thinking "Wow". Not only for the subject mater but the details and colors the images held within them.

Robert, I think I mentioned before that the pilot who flew me on several of those missions was Jack Brummitt. So, maybe it is genetic, the love of flying and rockets.

I like color too, but have been doing little of it since starting my emulsion making projects. Although I have probably coated more footage of color film and paper than most people here have used in their lifetimes.

My father, James Edward Brummitt was a pilot during WW2. Nothing glamorous like a fighter or bomber. No he flew C-47's and later worked in Nevada when H. Huges was hanging around with the pilots and folks who repairs the planes. He told me H.H was a cheap Bastard. Never had any cash around for food or eats.
My brother was a Marine tech who repaired the electronics for A-6's. He now is hanging around some air museum in Texas.
Finally, there was a Wyatt Brummitt, who wrote a book about photography called "This is Photography". I understand Wyatt also enjoyed flying kites.
You should join the color sub forum, PE.

Hey Mark,
Go to the "Groups" section and look for the Color/Colour group. Our logo is the CMY wheel.
