Color C41/E6 Tank $199 plus it cooks my meat

I have been looking to buy this thing now for about a year. Everytime I go to purchase it, some appliance takes a dump. So, hopefully now I will be able to get my backlog of color processing done at home.

I have tried the "fill up my beer cooler" and hope for the best at 105 degrees thing, and I always wind up working too hard to enjoy my beer, so that's why I bought it. Plus, we just bought a 1/4 grass fed Cow.

I bought two Jobo processors with shipping each for less than that at the APUG classifieds a few years ago. I kept the better model and resold the other one for my costs. Yes I had to buy tanks, reels and bottles separately, but I got the tanks that I wanted, not the tanks that would have come with the processor.

It is no processor, but for a make-shift immersion tempering tank it looks very promising.

No. Its not a processor, just a temp controlled device to keep chems and stuff on temp.

I could have probably built something but this is nice to have and no fooling around with reinventing.

For colour, I use the labs. My skills are such that B&W is all there's ever gonna be around here. But I am intrigued. Would this make my organic, pesticide free, more money than you can shake a stick at corn on the cob taste better? My adventures with French named products has not been good though. Que pouvez vous faire.

Even less if you use the code and piece the hardware together yourself with a resale shop slow cooker and ebay the other bits. I have not used it for film, but I have for cooking(especially an electric smoker). I don't think I would mix the two uses and would just make another to use for film. In fact, I have been looking for another large slow cooker for C-41 use.

I thought about the DIY route but ended up buying an Anova sous vide immersion unit. It was a little cheaper than the OP. I did my first roll of C-41 last weekend with it and it was a breeze.

Oh, I understand that. It is just an expensive and impractical way to avoid buying the proper equipment to begin with.

I use a Doran or premier (Can't remember the name right now )TC-750 immersion heater and a small cooler to do my C-41. Works like a charm and is fairly cheap. They show up on the big auction site once in awhile. I use it for RA-4 too. It's very accurate once you get it set up.I think I paid around $40 CAD
For each of the ones I have. I have two.

Exactly....

kind of like using a Dime to open the battery compartment on your film camera battery cover.... Accomplishes the same thing. HEY ! I really wanted one of those Color Processors, I just don't have an extra $3000 for a new one... Yes, If I was a real Photographer and worked for money, then I would need the very best, but my Prescription drugs per month cost me $640. I will be happy if it works ok, and I can cook my Cow. :munch:

I've posted extensively on the DIY "MacGyver" approach. I eventually switched to using an Anova sous vide instead. Simple, and I like to do my 4x5 sheets via dip and dunk, so this system works very well for that. I used to have a jobo cpp2, nice but it was traded away years ago during a home remodel. Bad decision, but I've had fun with the alternative methods.
