Very instructive. Thanks for posting.
Did notice that he doesn't warm up the varnish.
Also turns on regular light before tintype is fixed.

Thanks for posting and for the positive comments! I had a nerd moment that day and decided to mix up 2 technologies.
I always fix in the light. One of the magic moments of this process.
As long as the developer is completely washed off, fixing can be done in the light.
As far as warming the varnish, I did warm it up a bit (off camera). I typically do heat it up some, but some people believe it is not necessary.
