Yes, it is on my list.

You will want to pick up a few Ricohs. The Singlex (M42) is a good camera. In K-mount, I like the Ricoh KR5 Super II (manual) and the XR-10 (aperture priority), both are nice cameras and two of the better SLRs that Ricoh made.

I found a Ricoh KR5 with a 35mm to 70mm Zoom at a garage sale just yesterday. The zoom is a Sear's made in Korea. Shot a roll of color seems to be rather sharp. I did not know of any lens being made in Korea. Didnt Kodak buy Ricoh?

No, they bought Chinon or a stake in it. Ricoh is still very much around around making cameras (not film ones), copiers and much else.

I recall there were lenses made in Korea but can't recollect the brand. Samsung are Korean, but whether they make their own lenses I don't know.

It was made in China and had a Pentax-K bayonet lens mount. It might superficially look like a Pentax but on closer examination, it clearly isn't a copy, at least not externally. The quality control was also nowhere in the same league as that of Pentax. The Centon's don't seem built for a long life. They can have problems with the film advance jamming, to name but one. Of course many will be fine, but there are many around with faults which it is not economical to repair. Some Vivitar models looked to be the same model, and I think that the camera might still be available today under yet another name.
