Hope someone can help. I have decided to get back into film processing and have downloaded information on homemade developers using coffee, ascorbic acid and soda crystals, there is just one problem, I am using colour film that I understand it will develop as black and white, my question is, when taking the photographs, do I treat the film as black and white, using filters, or treat it as the colour film that it is.
hi stivi
i use the same coffee developer and like you,
use it with color film ( both c41+e6 )
i have used rgb filters and made trichromes
with the negatives before so i am guessing
you won't have an problems using b/w filters.
but i would shoot a test roll just to make sure
have fun!

Check the Coffee Developers Group on APUG. I have posted my stand development method that works for me every time using a variety of B&W films of varying ASA.

trichromes are when you take panchromatic film and color strip a subject / make 3 exposures
each, with RGB filters ( 1 each filter )
and then you combine those filtered negatives to make a color image
like these that were done before world war 1 http://archive.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/08/russia_in_color_a_century_ago.html
i don't do color printing so i have to combine them using modern technology, still lots of fun !
