I have ben using this method to check the usability of my fixer and its working out fine. Just wondering if I can use any B&W film to do this test or does if have to be the same film I am fixing?
The reason for my question is that a friend gave me some T-max 100 (bulk) that I really don,t like it. Thought that I might use this for my clip tests as I sometimes forget to save the leader from the soon to be processed cartridge.
I am sure there will be plenty of informative replies on this but I noted that in one book about B&W processing, there was mention of Tmax requiring a lot longer a fix time than other films. So it maybe that in testing fixer for T max you should use a T max leader.
Sort of figured as much. I just have to remember to do the clip test BEFORE I load my film into the tank. My film changing room has odds & sods of film all over the floor. Hey, maybe I should sweep it out. Make a note to self! Naw. I,ll do it NOW!
