I have Kodak Medalist that was in a houise fire. Well, was in a house when there was afire. It wasn't directly burned. But smoke did get into the room and it has smoke residue on the upper pieces.
Polishing off the metal parts is going fine. But the leather seems to still have a bit of smoke smell. I used Windex to wipe it down a few times.
Leave it in a container with a mix of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) and what is sold for kitty litter. Leave it for as long as necessary.
I had an old Voigtlander 6x9 camera that was very smelly from mildew & mould. Six to eight weeks sitting on top of such a mixture with the camera back open, bellows extended, worked.
