After scanning (I drum scan with KAMI SXL 2001 scanner fluid) is it possible to clean the film with the drum cleaning fluid KAMI DC 2001 instead of using the intended KAMI RC 2001?
Also, about tape, did anyone use regular transparent tape instead of the KAMI tape?
I use Gamsol for mounting fluid. In 90% cases there is no cleaning of the negative needed, in rare cases where there is any residue left on the negative a soft tissue is all that you need to wipe it off. When I think back that I used to use SDS mounting fluid... what a mess that was.
For tape I use Film Splice Tape from Technotape.com. Not exactly cheap, but works better than Tessa 4104 that some also like to use instead of the "standard" Kami tape. I would definitely test how resistant the tape adhesive is to your mounting fluid before using it. I use Scotch Magic tape for mounting prints since it's almost invisible.

Before getting my X1, I used Kami SXL2001 to wet mount on my Coolscan 9000 with an Image Mechanics tray. I can't remember even once having to clean the film afterwards. The fluid evaporated quickly and left the film unaffected.
