Has anyone here dismantled the viewfinder on a Minolta Autocord to thoroughly clean the screen? I believe mine is a model I (circa around 1965) with no meter. I just acquired this camera & the screen is NASTY.

Thanks,

Yes, I took mine apart to clean it and the rubber seal had turned to muck I cleaned it all out, be carefull not to use any liquid on the mirror I was warned it can remove the finish, use a brush and air. All went well on my clean up until I was putting it back together. I had the ground glass which is paper thin pinched under the hood and cracked the edge it doesn't effect anything but bothers me that I wasn't more carefull. Viewfinder is 4-5 times brighter than before I cleaned it. Good luck.
