The camera is a Wista Zone VI. 12" bellows and cherry wood. It has brass fittings with some sort of coating. There is a lot of oxidation on the fittings and I assume the coating gone. What is the best way to clean the fittings and how should they be maintained?

Take 'em off, polish 'em up & a light coat of varnish or lacquer(sprayed not brushed)
