Built in 1959, the Yashica YK was Yashica's second offering in the fixed-lens rangefinder market. This fully-manual unmetered camera features a 4.5cm 2.8 Yashinon lens. Cosmetically, this example is in excellent + condition, with bright, unmarred chrome, clean and complete leatherette, and no markings or engravings. The lens is clean, unscratched, and free of fungus or other defects, the aperture is free of oil and works as it should, the focus is smooth, the viewfinder is clear and bright and free of dust or debris, the RF patch is crisp and bright, and the shutter works at all speeds. The only "defect" at all on this fine old camera is that the film advance lever is a little stiff and does not return by itself, it may be that it is over-tightened, or may need a little lubrication. This is a very pretty camera, with styling cues obviously taken from the Leica M3 and Contax IIIa, and would be a good shooter, or an excellent addition to a collection, as it displays very well.
Included in the sale will be the original leather ERC (also in excellent condition), as well as a screw-on metal 46mm lens cap.
