I wouldn't call it poorly executed, seems to be imitating an imprecise era or style of film-makers. Like in Vertigo or Tim Burton's Batman where someone falls and it looks so fake.
Obvious "The Birds" themes but it also kind of reminds me of this scene in Citizen Kane:
Interesting idea and its the idea to which I imagine cliveh is referring as opposed to the merits and prices of the photograph displayed in the link which serves to initiate the idea of a project.
I keep on seeing people trying to replicate the 'look' from that era (whether it be by instagram or this). What they end up doing is replicating what a photo taken in that era would look like today, under bad storage conditions with all it's inherent fading.
