Classic Camera formerly in Biddeford, Maine has closed his retail operation, but the camera repair side is still in operation at a new address. Andy says he can't compete with the big stores and all the people who "...sit in their underwear at the computer and buy from the Internet". Anyway, here's the new address: Classic Camera, 4 Scammon St., Suite 19-295, Sacco ME 04072.

I've had three Nikons worked on by Andy over the past few years, and a Graphex with him now. All business can be conducted by phone and/or mail so you needn't trek up 95. And ps: he's very good, and very reasonable $. A couple of times I had a problem with cameras, and he talked me through it on the phone.

Sorry he has closed.

Hindsight is usually 20/20 but he could have become like B&H, Freestyle & others if he started a web site years ago, constantly modifying it, for us customers who shop in our underwear sitting by a computer.

If I didn't embrace the internet with my business I'd already be closed. I'm a survivor. He could have been as well. It's about aggressiveness, choices and other qualities.

This is what I got when I googled, "Classic Camera Maine":

Classic Camera & Repair Inc.
Our site is under construction.

Please call 207-284-5500 for store hours or additional information.

Maybe they had a site for their business?

I'm pretty sure B&H was a huge, wholesale firm in the biggest city on the east coast before the internet was invented. Vincent, thanks for the info. Andy once did a quick repair to one of my Hassy lenses and didn't charge me a dime. He has my business as long as I can find him.

Classic Camera in Maine...

Nothing's Changed In Maine;they're still a "Classic" act; Andy arranged to meet me at the "job site", delivered my favorite Konica (after CLA and light seals), consulted on some Nikon lens modifications and inspected a "new" old Adaptall 70-210. Plus, got to meet his very photogenic little girl!!!
Don't miss out on this camera repair "gem"!
