Hi there,

I recently acquired (second hand) the above mentioned cameras. Cosmetically they seemed fine so I popped in new batteries, loaded a roll in each and started shooting. Once I developed the films I discovered that the Fujica had a significant light leak. Mamiya's roll came back fine, but I had a hard time shooting (the focusing 'circle' would go half dark and also the mirror would 'get stuck' for a second or two which made me think that the foam is probably already gone and the mirror simply gets stuck. Replacing the light seals and DIY CLA is probably up everyone's alley around here, but I am very new to film and rather have someone more experienced/professional look at mine. At the same time I don't want to spend too much on cameras that a) are not that special& b) in some cases it might be cheaper to get a better camera body on ebay than pay for an CLA (at least what I have seen offered so far)

So my question is how much should I expect to pay for CLA for either one of my cameras and can you recommend someone who can do the job without breaking the bank?

Thank you in advance for your help!
Cheers
KG

I had the same sticky mirror problem with a Fujica STX-1n just last week, after replacing the mirror damper foam, it's fine.

I've never had a CLA on any of my cameras - but as both the AX3 and ZE rely heavily on batteries to operate, i'm thinking it may be difficult to find someone to do a CLA, and expensive.

If it's just the light seals and mirror cushions, and you feel up to replacing them yourself, there's lots of good info here:

I have replaced the light seals and mirror cushions in all my cameras myself with no problems. (OM-1n, OM-2n, STX-1n and Mamiya C330f)
