I've had great success with my M3 as well as other rangefinder and slr lenses and cameras at Essex Camera (aka Camera Repair.com) located in Essex NJ. They are competent and knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. Turnaround time is about 2 to 3 weeks tops. Here's their link: http://www.camerarepair.com/leica_camera_repair.php . Well Malcolm Taylor nr Leominster in the UK is excellent for older Leica's. He does service/repair on the factory's own collection of historic Leicas.

DAG camera is also good. Most decent local technicians can handle a IIIg however - not a big deal - this is old, simple stuff.
