I picked a Time O Light P72. The time adjustment knob sticks horribly. Has anyone ever had any luck opening one up and doing a CLA on it?

It's supposed to be hard to turn. Although it wouldn't hurt to go in and clean it up.

This one almost won't budge. Have to often use two hands to set it. I'll give it a go if I can find a wrench small enough to fit.

I found it much cheaper and easier to buy another one at auction after my first Time O Lite started getting weird. After putting it on the shelf, it somehow started moving again. They're pretty cheap, $25-40 as I recall.

…and if you're going to drop $25 or more on a timer, look for an Omega or similar audible repeating timer. That was a big change for me - those beeps are a huge help with dodging and burning, and you can set in 10ths of a second. It's easy to wire it to use a cheap guitarist's style footswitch too, great for two-handed burning.

I did just that. I found a Beselor audible for about $25. A screwdriver and some DeOxIt in the switch contacts and everything worked in less than an hour.
