If anyone local to the New Haven area is interested in showing their work at CWOS this fall, let me know. I have secured a local diner - Roberto's at the corner of State and Court - I happen to know the owner. There's LOTS of wall space. I'll be showing with another traditional film photographer - Michelle Reynard who specializes in night photography using her very old Rollei. Only traditional film photography or historical processes (digital negs OK if the original shot was taken on film - just going to take your word on this). These aren't the rules of CWOS, but mine if you want to show with me at this venue. Oh and the owner wants to keep it 'clean' in terms of content.

CWOS information: http://www.cwos.org
Michelle's flickr site: Dead Link Removed

My plan is to have an opening night maybe Saturday evening, catered by Roberto's. The diner is not fancy by any means. Also, the works will need to be up the weekend before and taken down the last evening or the next weekend.

Regards, Art.

Michelle found a 3rd photographer Jeff Glagowsky - a local New Haven photog who use to work for the local alternative paper called The Advocate. Jeff shoots a whole lot of Holga too! His images are fantastic:

The 3 of us met today over breakfast - yes I had a stack of bacon and blueberry encrusted pancakes with three eggs over easy, lots whip cream and pure maple syrup. I'd have a beer with a tequila chaser too, but the local establishment didn't have a liquor license ....

Looking for one more. Local traditional film photographer, that is. The three of us kind of have a street scene going here in. Michelle and her night photography Polaroid transfers of local New Haven landmarks, Jeff and his Holga close ups of people in public, me and my ambrotypes with modern streetscape content.

Regards, Art.

Now can I select a site or what? Roberto's is 50 feet away from the Downtown Artists In Residence Site. Those of you that organize exhibitions have much new found respect from me. Two weeks to go and we're scrambling to pull it together. We've got frames from Texas, glass from Jersey, prints from NYC, and the alignment of several celestial bodies to make this thing happen.

BTW you are all welcome to come by, look at some photos and eat some great diner food. :D

We're planning to have an Artist Opening on Saturday, so if anyone's around in New Haven, come on over! There will be munchies.

Regards, Art.
