When using the Cinestill Cs41 Color Simplified kit to develop film, after following the instructions on wash, I wipe the film and the water has a reddish or orange color.
Is this normal? Could it affect the archival quality of the film?
I’ve even doubled the amount of wash and is still present.
This can indeed be the case, although the color is usually magenta and it's quite pale.
A reddish/orange color sounds like bleach that's not properly washed out yet.
I am very suspicious of CineStill chemistry. But still these whales seem to use PDTA blix. Washing blix shouldn't take long. True, the first 2-3 water baths will really be colored...
