I notice that the Cibachrome/Ilfochrome chemicals are now in some sort of 2L kit. I am keen to get into printing some Ilfochrome, and I want to use my Durst Printo - but this takes 2.5l baths.
You have to fill your processor to the recommended levels, so it would seem that you would indeed have to purchase 2 kits..for one fill plus some surplus.
I'm deleting this post for now because I said so much that was in error, thanks largely to listening to retailers. I will repost correct info later....maybe.
I use a very old, very simple Saunders cylindrical tube type tank. Only requires enough liquid to
cover the two sheets inside as you roll it back and forth.
Can you process ciba at room temp in trays? I use that with RA4. I get by with 500ml of dev and I use a liter of blix cuz it doesn't oxidize. If you could use trays that would be much more economical.
It can be done. I dont how it will be more economical. An old Ilford tech support guy said the bleach was the first to go (I cant confirm that)...but in trays it may go quicker. You have to agitate it vigorously for the first 15 seconds n bleach. I only did it a couple times, not knowing that. Anyway drums are so much better.
