The intent of minimal engine size is so that hills will be a struggle and top speed will be normally low.

The Enfield Bullet is made in India now. 1950's British design that "thumps at every lamp post" and is simple to fix.

From what I've seen of Indian traffic a Series 2/3 Landrover looks a lot safer...
