i repair laptops for a living and i'm just getting into repairing cameras as a hobby. i've done some light seal replacements, cleaned aperture leaves and looking for a new challenge. so i'm thinking about buying this Chinon body for dirt cheap- repair manuals for this model seem to cost the same or more than what i'll pay for it w/shipping. according to the seller the meter only seems to work in very bright light.

so my questions are-

1) do i buy this body (did i mention the REALLY funky 70's era strap that comes w/it :D ) and tinker w/it? i'd buy the repair manual from camerabooks.com if it were a more common body that i might do some work on in the future.

2) is it possible that this has something to do with the light sensor itself? if that's the case, where would i find a part like that (and could it come from a Pentax "parts" camera?)

any advice is greatly appreciated!
