After playing with a few rolls of film in Rodinal, i have come to the sad conclusions that Eco Pro blakc and white film developer was not the one for me to be using.. film that created negatives i thought were good,,, werent so good once i had the same film developed in rodinal.
I have been using the eco pro line, and with some of my paper, i KNEW i wasnt quite getting the blacks to come out as black as i thought they should be based on what others achieved.. Seeing a thread on here about using inkpress multi tone and getting good results with blacks i cant get with eco pro..
IS it safe to consider that developing an understanding of printing, and even getting decent negatives would be improved by just jumping to the cheapest Ilford or Foma paper developer?
Ive already switched to more dangerous developers.. so im not like worried about using more dangerous paper developers.. but the thought is there.
Does eco friendly not always equal best results when starting out, when one doesnt really have the ability to say "this print was screwed by the developer..."
