In a post earlier in this thread, Jon recommended a B&B near Wellesley and Jarvis. People knocked it due to its location, but I would trust the guy. He lives not far away. In particular, the Cabbagetown area, which is not far from Wellesley and Jarvis, is pretty gentrified and has a bunch of B&Bs.
I owned a house in Riverdale, have friends in this area. It is a nice area, but you and I know, that it gets colourful at night, so it's not for everyone.
B&Bs are a great alternative to hotels. Many are inexpensive and are near some fantastic picture taking locations.
I fully agree that the Roe Hampton and the Crown Plaza(with car) are the closest and best choices as Art keeps pointing out.
It is a 4-5 day visit with a lot of stuff planned, we hope to keep everyone busy from early morning till late evening if they want. The last thing I want to hear is someone stuck , trying to get to a hotel 40 miles away. Brampton is a 1 1/2 hour commute at the best of times by transit. I cannot imagine the agro someone would have to go through on a weekend in May.
Thanks for the ideas but practically speaking a long commute each day will take the wind out of your sails.
Hey guys, since I live close to the conference, I will try to shuttle a few groups from the Roehampton to the event on Thursday. P.M. me closer to the date, and we can set something up.
B.T.W. Jon, I didn't mean to give you a hard time about the Jarvis/ Sherbourne/ Wellesley area, I just thought that some people might not be accustomed to this particular type of area at night.
