Having added a 28 finder, it slides around in the M4-2 accessory shoe. In the past I've used the standard combinations of a piece of cardboard or some duct tape. Today I was looking for something else in the garage when I came across a package of felt pads. I found one small enough to fit between the feet of the finder. It's self adhesive but the glue is easily removed with a dab of alcohol. Being felt, it slides and there is no risk of scratching anything. Plus a card of them is inexpensive enough to keep on hand if it falls off.

I used Dr. Scholls "Moleskins" on the finders for my Fujica GL690 because I already had them in my medicine cabinet. They are sheets of padding that you cut to size, adhesive on one side, then stick on a blister to pad and reduce friction on your foot. Very similar to the felt pads that @madNbad used.
