B&H and perhaps others currently has Ilford HP5 plus in three packs of 36 exposure rolls at $10.50, which works out to $3.50 a roll. This is less expensive than their 50 roll packs. This might be a good time for folks who are using Tri-X to give this product a try. Bill Barber

That's what I did in finding an alternative to Tri-X. Very inexpensive indeed, and beautiful film.

Durn! Must of missed that when I put in my order on 28 January! Oh well, I will put in another at the end of the month. Hopefully, the sale will still be on...

$3.50. Try that in Europe . Kodak, on the other hand...

Well, enough said about that already.

Ok, ill give it a try:smile:

Kodak Tri-X for 5 dollar: http://www.macodirect.de/kodak-trix-35mm-c-1_6_37_197_198.html
Ilford HP5+ for 6 dollar:http://www.macodirect.de/ilford-plus-kleinbildfilm-c-1_6_53_181_182.html

So. yes, we pay a bit more in Europe. But i will still say film is an extreme cheap product for capturing high quality images.

I compared what a norwegian worker was payed per hour in 1970 and compared with Tri-x price that year.

In 2012 Tri-x is a lot cheaper than in 1970 if you see it with those glasses:smile:
