Maplins are doing a buy one get one half price SR44 s etc

SR44 as I remember correct cost me $ 7,99 (at a photo store in the 90th)
I was shocked from pricing - never visit this store again.
This was of cause much to expensive.
Today it is often used in any kind of cheap toys.
Best price you can find is at simpel
99 cent stores.
The price is around ?
It is 99 cent. ( to 10 pices Sr 44 ).
with regards

PS : Sure you may have bad luck.
Then you have to pay 99 cent to a 2xpack. ( or 6xpack )

I regularly buy nameless CR 2023 cells for some lighting use. So far had no problems with them. The same with nameless Alkaline AAs.
But 2 years ago I bought some cheap nameless SR44 cells from Aldi or Lidl. After stocking them until now without using, they started leaking.

We have those too, but they're LR44's (alkaline) not SR44's (silver oxide). I'd be surprised if the batteries you're finding in packs of ten for 99¢ are not alkaline, even if the packaging says something like "SR44 equivalent" etc. Even online it's a challenge to find SR44's for less than $1,50 a pair.

I use an online supplier (www.buyabattery.co.uk) that sells Rayovac 357 (silver oxide) SR44 cells cheaply. My most recent order was £15.44 for 20 including postage. They work well in my Olympus OM4-Ti cameras.

Oh .....yes you may be right.I just have a focus if such batteries have the correct size. And the normal voltage.
But it could be possible - so I bought silver oxyde type.
Blut also - never the less - they are good to 12 month minimum in 80th SLR CAMERAS.

with regards

Now there's a link worth favoriting for those of us on this side of the pond. Thanks for sharing. I see they do 1.4V ZA675's as well for £2 for six...

No problem. Since the OP is in the UK (as are the Maplin electronics shops) it seemed appropriate to link to another UK supplier. The exact link is :https://www.buyabattery.co.uk/batte...attery-sr44w-sr44-sr1154sw-rw42.html?___SID=U

As you can see, they are much cheaper if bought in bulk. I have 5X OM cameras that use them and my dog's flashing collar (to find her at night in the woods) also uses these cells.

Yeah I saw that. Probably a very worthwhile online store if you need to bulk buy, otherwise the P&P makes it uneconomical.

Trendland, I find the biggest problem with shops in the U.K. is getting them to accept U.S. dollars and cents

Do you have a source for rechargeable SR44's? I'd sure like some.
There are NiMh cells with the same size as R44, but then you get a lesser voltage. Which might be an issue or not.

I have had that happen too. My no name Sr44 batteries started to leak while in their packaging. I think I bought a ten pack off ebay for about $5. More or less.

I wouldn't buy no-name batteries. Not worth the risk of destroying a camera to try to save pennies.

I found AA alkalines from a reputable manufacturer heavily leaking in their package already. There even was a warranty on the package, saying that the manufacturer would replace an appliance if it would be harmed by these battteries leaking...

Though, they were made decades ago.
